General Information
- Online registration is open online until June 14, 2010 by 11:59 MIDNIGHT
- After 12:00AM of June 15, 2010, online registration will be closed. All registrations will take place the day of the show at the GermanAutoBASH tent.
- Show check-in and registration must be completed between 10:00am and 1:00pm. Late check-ins and registrations will not be permitted after 1:00pm.
- All vehicles will be classified by their level of modification at check-in/registration by their owners. Owners are asked to choose the class that best represents their car's level of modification. Please see the class breakdown below to ensure you register for the right class!
- Judging will begin promptly at 2:00 PM. Please have all show vehicles detailed and ready to be judged by that time. Cars that aren't fully prepared by this time will be judged as-is.
- We recommend securing all display materials in a safe manner. We don't want your display material going missing or blowing away.
- Vehicle Identification Cards must be clearly displayed on all show vehicles in the dash area/front windshield. Vehicles without entry cards will NOT be judged!
- Judging will be based upon the scoring breakdown explained in the "Scoring" second on page 2. Please read that section thoroughly to understand how the judges will be scoring your car. All entries will be judged with attention to detail, cleanliness, and overall appearance. Entries will be judged as fairly and impartially as possible. (See "Preparation/Presentation")
- Judges must have access to all areas of the vehicle, including the trunk, interior, or engine compartment if the participant wishes to be judged fairly for that area. Judges are not to touch or open any areas of the vehicle to complete their judging duties, so please have all areas accessible to the judges during that time.
- It is suggested that you be available to the judges during the time that your vehicle is being evaluated. They may have questions for you, or may need your assistance with your vehicle. However, it is NOT required that you talk to the judge unless he/she requests it.
- Show cars are not permitted to be moved or leave the premises unless absolutely necessary.
- All show vehicles must remain in the show area during the event hours of 1:00pm to approximately 5:30pm. WINNERS MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN AWARDS! If you leave early from the event, you forfeit your show fees and are no longer eligible to win your class. If a winner is not present, the award will be presented to the next-highest score in that class.
- The decision of the judges is final. Revisions will not be made to judging sheets. Tie-breakers will be by a majority vote of the judges.

Below are the classes/subclasses that are offered at GermanAutoBASH. Be sure to read and understand this list so you know where your car will qualify!

- Best in Show
All registered cars qualify for this award, but the best car will take it home! The car getting the highest average score among ALL registered show cars wins.
- NOTE: Winner of Best in Show is not eligible to win the class they were entered. If a VW entered in the "Extreme" class wins Best in Show, the car with the next highest score in that class will be awarded the Best Extreme VW award!
- People's Choice
A vote is run at the GermanAutoBASH tent for all spectators and show car owners to participate in to choose what car is the crowd favorite. The car receiving the most votes wins.
**PLEASE NOTE** GermanAutoBASH and its coordinators reserve the right to modify the classes as needed. While preregistered owners will be notified of class changes, any and all classes are subject to change without notification.
Judging
Big Ohio will be using a panel of roughly 4-5 judges to score all show cars. This section is split into 2 major sections: Preparation/Presentation and Scoring. Please read each section carefully as we have included helpful hints that may get you those extra points that win your class.
Preparation/Presentation
- Cleanliness is everything! You are entered into a car show where you are trying to show your car off. Shouldn't it look like it fits the part? Clean your car when you arrive, namely give your car a quick wipe down and clean your rims! A dirty car won't be scored highly, so make sure your car shines.
- Make bolt-ons seem more than just bolted on! Bolt on modifications are cheap and can often change the overall look of your car, but try to make them look like more than just bolted on. For example, if your car has a roof rack, clean it up and make it look like it was meant to be there. Pay attention to detail!
- Displays go a long way! With a display, you will be able to show judges things you have on your car that may not be easily visible. It also helps if you have official track times if your car is used in those kinds of events. A good display will be able to give a good overview of the car without having to actually see the car.
- Open your car for all to see! When you are setting your car up, make sure to at least have your hood popped so we can see what you're packing in there. Clean engine bays are a major plus!
Scoring
Scoring for all show cars will be based on rating scale of 1-10 for each of the 5 following categories. This score will then be multiplied by the category's percentage weight and then added together to get the car's overall score. The car's overall score from each of the judges will then be totalled together and averaged to get the car's final overall score. This score will then be used to determine if the car won its class and ultimately who wins Best in Show. Scoring will be based on the follwing 5 categories
- Originality (10%)
- Points awarded for cars that demonstrate a theme or style.
- Parts that appear "just on the car" will lower the car's score.
